Does hair stop growing?

Believe it or not, hair grows approximately 0.44 mm per day resulting in about ¼ inch per month. Your ends may be breaking due to heat styling, braiding, combing, brushing and other forms of manipulation the hair thus resulting in breakage.

Why does my hair shed so much?

Hair shedding is normal for old hair to come out and new hair to come in. The amount of hair shedding mostly depends on how frequently it is cleansed and how much heat is being used to style your hair. Hair should be cleansed every three to four days depending on texture. And heat styling must be done on clean hair only. Medication and overall health contributes to excessive hair shedding. Consult your physician if you think your medication is the culprit. If you are malnourished or dehydrated, eat properly and drink more water.

Why does hair turn gray?

Hair turning gray is either caused by stress or genetics. Gray hair is a loss of pigment (color) in one’s hair. Artificially coloring hair is the most popular way to return to your natural color. Removing stress and improving your diet can slow down the loss of pigment in hair. If genetics is the cause of your hair turning gray, artificial hair color is the simplest solution.

Should children’s hair be chemically straightened?

Professionally, I will say no. However there are exceptions. Hair is an appendage of skin, thus scientifically speaking meaning it is hair. Because skin matures as the child does, refrain from chemically altering your child’s hair until puberty is reached thus making hair damage less probable.

What is the best way to prevent razor bumps when shavinig?

First make sure face is prepped with a very warm towel. Second apply a shaving foam or cream to reduce friction. Shave in a downward then upward motion. Please do not taut and stretch skin; for this force hairs to turn inward causing razor bumps. If your hairs are to coarse, try an electric razor, you’d be surprised.

Isn’t color bad for hair?

Hair color like gas comes in quality. Economy, Premium and Platinum as does the hair colorist who uses them. Consult first before receiving service to make sure you a candidate for hair color. The science of hair color entails using a developer or activator which acts as oxygen of sort to develop the artificial color molecules in the tube or bottle inside each strand of hair. Provided the proper developer or activator is used along with quality color molecules; thus making all forms of hair color safe, including organic. The three forms of artificial hair color are demi (glosses or rinses), semi (last up 24 shampoos) or permanent.

Does make up cause skin irritations?

Most make-up companies claim to be non comedogenic, hypo-allergenic and oil free. Remember to read the ingredients. Use make up from reputable companies. As with any product, if skin irritations develop, discontinue use and consult with a physician. Also, there are quality make up available for every one, including those with the most sensitive skin.

Why do my nails break and polish peel?

Fingernails need protection just like the rest of your skin. Nail polishes provide protection against the elements. Fortify nails with polishes formulated to strengthen and protect nails. Also shape nails regularly to prevent breakage and splitting. Polish usually peels due too much oil left on the nail prior to polishing them. A base coat is highly recommended to ensure polish sticks. Base coat allow polishes to adhere to the nail better and longer. Finish with a top coat to increase life of polished nails.

What should I do with my hair while I exercise?

Tie your hair down with a scarf to reduce swelling. Feel free to shampoo and restyle your hair if time permits. Also braided hair and extensions provides less hassle and tangle free solutions for the styling challenged. Remember not leave your extensions in more than two months.

Does pregnancy cause hair to fall out?

Pregnancy causes hormones levels to rise. Testosterone is the hormone responsible for hair growth. Elevated levels of this hormone can cause hair to fall out or grow. Please consult with your doctor for more information. Also everybody’s body is different.

Can I receive chemical services while pregnant?

Most hair care products have almost no traceable content of ingredients that could harm a growing fetus or woman, however ingredients from hair care products do penetrate the skin. If you are sensitive to certain ingredients, read the label before using and consult with your doctor for more information.

Why does a baby’s hair change?

An infant’s hair is considered lanugo. Lanugo, vellus or baby hair is more of a protectant for the head than it is hair. It is designed to rub out as the baby matures.

Is heat bad for hair?

Hair is an excellent conductor of heat provided the heating element is not too high. Heat must be used on clean hair only. Refrain from using heat on hair that has not been shampooed within 4 days. Doing so results in hair singing and breakage.
